• hood scoop on ram air hood

Hey everyone, i'm thinking of trying something out, and just want to get people's opinions on it. i have the ws6 ram air hood on my firebird, but want to put an aero scoop on it to make it really stand out. maybe one like hte one at this link (not necessarily this one but somethign along these lines)

    http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...21&prmenbr=361

Just want to get everyone's opinion. basically looking for something to make people stare as i drive by (not that the ram air already doesn't). yes i have thought about ls1's wanting to race, but i already get that alot and just know how to ignore them now. of course i'd have to custom cut the scoop to fit it to the hood, but just use your imaginations and tell me if its a good idea or not.

i dunno seems like too much work, and if you did put it on and didn't make it functional it would just slow you down by creating drag... and the front end would look to busy to bulky, too much imo...

and where are you in TX?

Dude don't do it. It would be seriously detremental to the look of your Firebird. In fact very nastly looking.

to tell u the truth i wouldn't care about the drag cuz i don't race too much. i hold my own really well against 6's, never lost to a camaro or a stang, and only lost to 1 firebird and he was heavily modded. i have minimum mods and the car runs really well. basically, i've figured i'm not gonna be the fastest 6 out there, i don't have the time or the money, yet i also don't want a p***y car that looks really pretty. i want it to look mean. some people already get scared off by its look now, and i never lie, i tell people straight out its just a 6. if my car can't be the fastest, the prettiest, i want it to be the meanest looking one out there, something way different than what anyone else has done. by the way, i'm in the Rio grande valley, and every other person here has a mustang, camaro, or firebird. thats why i want somethign really differnet and thats why i'm looking for opinions. just everyone write your honest opinion about my idea and if it sux, well then i'll think of somethign else. but thanx for your opinion redbird

The idea SUCKS it is by far going to ruin the look of that car if you do it. It would look so white trashy... Just a valid opinion

ok that looks out of place but imagine that ona ws6 hood props for imagination put the over al idea will ruin your car in looks if you are gonan do it at least ditch the ws6 hood for a stock one and then do it. somewhere in the car bible it does say though shalt not have more than 3 induction holes on though hood.

while nonfunctional hood scoops have been a mucsle car tradition, this might be taking it a bit too far. you want people to think your car looks mean, but i promise you, if you get that they wont be afraid of it. In fact, theyll probably laugh at it. Its good to try to be original, but not like this.

if you really want a big scoop, go with the 5 inch Cowl Ram Air Hood from VFN

To be honest that was a stupid Idea

sorry man, you'd be a laughing stock of your town... there's nothing wrong with the ram air hood... it looks very muscular, yet with an ounce of class, kinda... not that f-bod's have much class (i'm not knocking, i know what i mean... my old man always has a go when i tell him my next car's gonna be a 98-02 ls1 firebird, he says 'so you dont want a classy car, like a BMW, you really like the muscle look?' my answer, 'damn skippy')
