The piece on the LS1 is for a SS or WS6 only. I guess it would or might work with a Z hood but it is completly pointless to have unless you are going through a ss or WS6 or Z hood.
I would show you mine but theres this goo that came on the car when I bought it and I can't figure out how to get it off :( Its like grease or something and someone help?
when i first got it i had some nasty grease under mine also. i used a mixture of water and "fantastik" to get all the grease off. it took quite a bit of scrubbing, but i finally got it. I have never heard of anyone using the stuff on their paint before, but it worked fine for me, and did not damage the paint one bit. no i jsut wash it with regular soap and water and wax it to keep it clean.
