Which do you like better? It all comes down to the look, the Z-Style is easily made functional in our cars but the SS-Style can be made to work with modifications so they're both performance-wise the same. I'm going to buy one or the other at the end of this summer so which would you get?

I like the SS but, not to offend any board members, feel that it is too well linked to the SS. I mean if your driving down the street and see a firebird that you can tell is not a WS6 you wouldn't say "look at that firebird w/ a WS6 hood" you would say "look at that firebird w/ a ram air hood" however w/ a camaro you would say "look at that camaro w/ a SS hood" and wouldn't " look at that camaro w/ a ram air hood". Get what i mean? I'd have to say go with the Z-style hoodRedlineVSix

well correct me if Im wrong...but the ram air on the SS hood is not AS functional as the Z hood....simply because its not a high pressure area, and air has to loop back around to get the throttle body....and I dunno about you but I like to have a unique car...how many people on the road have you seen with a Z hood.....thats the only credit I give to the ricers, they care about their cars and try to make them unique....
my .02 ;)

Doesen't the Z hood work with the factory intake housiing or something?
I'd go with the Z because I don't thinke the 93-97 SS hoods looked all that good as the 98 and up, and the Z would make the car look more unique, i've never seen a camaro with a Z hood in person, but I've seen a ton with the SS, real and non SS's.Then: 1997 3.8L Red Firebird~SOLD!~
Now: 2002 Atlantic Blue Dodge Ram 1500

While I would respect anyone's decision to buy an SS hood as it is only a hood and it looks awesome (as long as you don't put SS emblems on)... there are way too many out there that would bash you for it.

IMO
93-97 looks better w/ a SS hood

I've been taking the American Sportscar Design Custom Ram-air hood into consideration as well. I don't think it can be made functional but it does look nice. What do you think of it? http://www.thunderracing.com/images/s-300b.jpg2001 Firehawk #155 of 504 -M6
437 RWHP / 404 RWTQ -Dynojet (heads/cam)
12.34 @114 mph 1.7 60\' (bolt-ons only)
12.47 @116 mph 2.0 60\' (street tires, heads/cam)

corvette big-block hood, the good thing about that one is you can open-up that cowl-hood part to vent out engine bay pressureWolf
95 black t-top camaro,3.4 5 speed,ud pullies,plugs/wires,de-shaft tb & gutted airbox, homemaid short throw shifter

honestly, id save the money, keep the stock hood, put the money towards a cold air intake (which might actually make more hp then the ram air) and use the extra money on some serious mods. Cause for real, buying a new hood, and getting it shipped, and painted, is AT LEAST a thousand dollar process. I understand it looks cool and whatnot, just a lot of money for something with a little go.AIM: escalier deverre
\'02 Pearl Blue Metallic RSX-S (daily driver)
\'98 Black Firebird
98 V6 turbocharged to 02 LS1 swap
\'02 LS1/4L60E
LS6 Block, LS6 Intake Manifold, Thunder Racing 215/220 .600/.523/115 Cam, Titanium Retainers, Crane Double Valve Springs, 125 shot NX Wet Kit w/ NOS brand Purge, True Dual \"H\" Pipe w/ two chambers and dumps, 17x11(rear) and 17x9.5(front) Black Powdercoated ZR1 Replicas on 315 and 275 BFGoodrich Comp T/A\'s (Street)/ET Drags/Skinnies on Weldlites(Track), 3.42/LSD
