Ok Peeps.. i have been looking around and seen SEVERAL different suggestions.. but i want an overall opinion on what is the best bang for the buck as far washing and waxing my car. i want somthing that is a deep wet look that will last a while.. not worried about spending a few extra $'s to make my car look good and have my paint last long..

I've been told a coat of Meguiar's works wonders..
although this "liquid glass" wax sounds like it deserves to be tried...Summer:
1999 Black Pontiac Firebird Coupe
5-speed, T-Tops, Chrome Rims, TA Hatch, Reflective Decals.

Winter:
2000 Silver Grand Am GT
Reflective Black Badge Overlays, chrome

A bit expensive, but I use Meguiars Gold Class. It gives it a nice shine, even for a white car.- White \'99 V6 Camaro (M5, 3.23s)
- 3\" Borla Exaust, RK Sport Induction Lid, Fast Toys Ram Air, K&N Air Filter, !Silencer, !MAF Screen, B&M Short shifter, Manual Fan Switch, 160° Hypertech Powerstat, BMR Boxed LCAs(rubber/poly), BMR STB
*My Cardomain Website*

I prefer the Meguiar's products (I use them on my Corvette and my Camaro), but whatever you use, if you want a high quality end-result you can see and feel, make sure you clay the car first. I guarantee you will notice the difference.Mike
2001 Camaro
Light Pewter Metallic Convertible
AU0,A31,C60,DG7,F41,GU6,K34,L36,M30,T82,T96,UN0
If it can\'t be expressed in figures, it is not science; it is opinion.

I've been using something called Nu-Finish. It's a polish rather than wax, and it lasts for quite some time. It's in an orange bottle for $5 at walmart. I'm not the most experienced person with waxes and all, but my grandfather swears by it and he's used everything through his years of owning cars.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

i have used meguiar's and it looks fine, but it really lacks the durability i want. i dont have time to wash and wax every weekend.
i do like nu finish. it will last for months so i can just wash/wax about once a month. its not as shiny/bright as other waxes.
also tried liquid glass at one point. it wasnt as glossy as nu-finish. it was fairly durable though.
recently i tried prestone's 'high performance' synthetic wax (rated in consumer reports as durable and high gloss). i think it goes on and comes off better than nu-finish (its a little thinner this seems to help during the wax/polish phase). i does seem more glossy but its difficult to tell on a pewter metallic car.
one day i might get around to trying zaino. mail order is such a hassle.
(and yes, you should probably use a clay bar before using one of the above polishes. they have no abrasives. you want your paint clean and smooth as possible).
