I'm posting this as a warning to others in light of my recent news. Wouldnt you know that something goes wrong as soon as I save up enough money to fix my ground effects.
I was just finishing up washing and waxing my car yesterday, getting it all nice and shiny for the 4th of July, when I went ahead and popped my hood to replace one of my headlight bulbs. It was kinda strange, the hood was opening really slow and made a grinding type sound . I thought maybe something was in the hood supports, so I just helped lift it up a bit. Then I starting hearing this cracking sound and decided that was too much and put the hood back down to figure out what was wrong. I looked over and saw that my wipers were left up from when I washed my windows, but there was silver paint from my hood all over them. Dang nabit that sucks! I left my wipers up and the hood was grinding against them; it took off a decent chunk of paint unfortunately. Well, then I look by my hand at the drivers side wiper....Much to my dismay there was a huge spiderweb crack in my windshield now too right behind the wipers . Now I need to get a new windshield for my car, and this thing is gonna steadly grow from the bottom corner all the way across to the top corner, ARGH!!
Anyways, the moral of the story is: Always check to make sure your wipers are down before opening your hood. I completely forgot about them being up, but I never would have expected them to crack the windshield anyways. I just figured I'd warn other people that it can have dangerous consequences, this sucks...
BTW - my headlight ended up not being burnt out, it was just a loose wire from where the headlight wire was spliced for something. So the thing I originally popped the hood for in the first place was actually fine....
