[Domestic Violence]

has anyone ever painted an exterior part? can you use auto spray paint and do you have to sand it first? i'm going to either get the back panel painted or i'm going to do it myself. i don't want to jump into it, but if i can do it myself and save the $$$ then i will. i want to paint it gloss black.

You will have to do some sanding, the paint won't stick to a smooth surface, Start by removing the panel, scuff sand it with 400 grit sandpaper, clean off all dust and debri, tack cloth works well for this, spray in stages using light coats,patience will pay off here! this will also prevent runs in the paint, make sure to put a coat of clear on it when you are done.
Also keep in mind that black is a most unforgiving color when it comes to showing flaws... Hope this helps
