is ther only one type of body kit for the 93-97 firebirds?

  • #2
i suggest thinking twice before getting a kit... do you go over speed bumps alot??? do you enter raised parking lots alot??? If you do now after your kit you never will again.... I can barely get into my school with my kit... yeah I love they way it looks but that scrapping sound kills me inside!!!

That's what's holding me back. I scrape already leaving gas stations, I couldn't even image what it'd be like with a bodykit.

There's an easy way to fix that. Go at the curbs at an angle. I never scrape mine...

yeah.. some curbs and places are just unavoidable, I'm real good with mine now. I say don't let the scraping hold you back, I mean they are built for a little scrape here and there, you'll get used to it.

yea, learn to drive slow and cross anything at an angle. People look at me weird the way i straddle dips and speed bumps. Alot of your scraping is coming from your air dam. Mine scrapes all the time but it's never the bumper cover. Always the Air dam

Scraping SUCKS!!! I take everything at angles. It's so funny to watch peoples reactions if they haven't rode in my car before. Some people freak out cause they think I'm gonna run into oncoming traffic or something. As much of a pain as it is I still wouldn't trade it for not haveing fx. Well worth it imo. Although I'm gonna have to repaint the freakin things in not that long. Stupid stupid curbs.

The wings west kit looks good with that extention on the fin.

I wouldn't say this should keep you from getting FX. Personally I wouldn't own a F-body w/out fx but I don't think they look bad w/out them. Just look alot better with them. It is a pain but usually scraping doesn't do much damage that you can see, just pisses you off. Although I'm sure the 97 and prior are more prone to being ripped off. If you decide against fx drop it :D 4th gens look amazing dropped.
