How do you get the black by the headlights and in the front to really shine?

I used Mother's Back to Black today on them... It doesn't make it shine or anything but it definitely makes them look good and clean! it's painted black up by the headlights. Why put armor all on it? On all of those types of products it says to not apply to painted areas. If you want it to shine just use a polish/rubbing compound to remove the upper layers of oxidized paint. Or get it repainted. Back to Black is good to use on weathe/t-top stripping and sometimes tires, but never any kinda paint.
