Hey Blackbird, where did you mount your toggle switches? The reason I was asking is that I was looking for something like a switch box with separate switches for front/middle/back neons that could also house powerplate switch, undercarriage neons, and fan switch. Is there any switch panel/box like this made that is small enough to fit in the center console?

Thanks for all the replies guys! Gonna try to move my neons a little lower.

hey all. i dont have pics rite now and i need to reconnect my neons, but i have some just like Blue Flame's.

mine are under the dash like his are, i NEVER have a problem with kicking them (except for one really stupid guy with bigass feet that sat in my car and thot it was "kool" to kick the dashboard to the sound of the beat..i was really pissed at him...)

anyway. i actually drew power for my neons from the dimmer switch!! heheh. it works for rite now, problem being is that i can only turn them on when the driving (parking) lamps are on, i.e. brakes/fog, and then...well, im not sure its good for the lights to dim them..but it works!

i can dim them with the rest of the interiors. so i guess that works, i just cut the cig. lighter ends off, made one line power, and one ground and ran it to a lighted switch, and from there, nice blue lighted switch glows "on" when power is going to the lights. i attached the switch in the console, in the little "bucket" where the e-brake sits when its down.

I have to give the wally world 10 inch neons an A plus. I was detailing my camaro and noticed I needed new windshield wipers. So After I picked out that I was wondering around the automotive section looking for syntec oil on sale. I found these 10 inch neons. They only had purple and blue. So I went with blue. So I did a quick install of one in the passanger foot well. Pretty cool... Not too shabby for 10 bucks each.

I still have not determinded what my perm set up will be. But a dimmer switch will be involved. I'm kinda nervious of attracting Cops.

You're lucky you didn't fry your head unit from drawing enough current to power the neon.

Ya I kno im reviving a really old topic, but Im doin that underdash blue's, that looks uber-awesome!!! Where can I get those same neons to get the same color, I assume their like generic, I could pick them up anywhere.

Any new pictures of your neons under dash guys? Id love to see them. Also I dont wanna mess with hookin the wires into the battery so Id hope to get a 1 to 3 convertor but will it still have enough power to do the neons. I may hardwire it, Im unsure. If ya could give any and all info of what size and how ya have it setup would be awesome. THX.

Ill probably go for liteglow's like this ebay auction

Ok, Did it last night cause i was bored HAHAHA..... Mine arent that good but im still working on it. Went to Target, got the 9inch Liteglow blue for $26.50 (tax and all) and came home, thought real quick how to wire it up, I did..... then I had neon wire, Im like, what the hell, mine as well throw it on to see how it looks. It went in really easy, I was making it comlicated, but threw my center console, but in my Camaro I have a nice big opening behind my CD player and back there I threw it and so thats where the transformed and wires are at. Then I ran the wire under the center console abit and out threw my ash tray to the cigarette lighter. Pretty simple, and all you see is the actual plug that goes into the cigarette lighter and like 2 inches of wire.

I went for the Liteglow "THIN" 9inch ones, the light is bright but I think those bigger ones would provide more if you want, like in the other post of some other guy's Camaro, its really bright, i bet he has the bigger thick one maybe, I think he said he used 15inch one.

Im not sure If I like the Neon Wire outline, but I love the blue glow. I dont want it too bright, but its just perfect. Im thinking of adding in smaller 6 inch ones to my dome light so when i enter my car they turn on, or 6's under my seats for alittle bit more light for the front and perhaps the back seats.

Ill get better pics, those were done with my Digital Video Camera.
little vid i made with my DV camera when i was taken the pics, i take the fisheye off and on. www.mrszees.com/images/neons.wmv (2mb - 30secs)

i am currently ordering 10 pairs of 12" cold cathodes which are similar to neon but better as far as brightness and mountability. check them out at www.elwirecheap.com . they have a page there explaining how they differ from neons.
