• Should I get a Non functional Ram Air hood?

I have a 97 bird and I've seriously thought about getting a ram air hood but no air box(cause of the extra money for that and I already have a Cold Air Intake) I was wondering if you guys/girls new a good place to get a cheap one and what do you think a decent price would be to paint one? Is it possilbe to have the paint blened in with the factory paint real well? I mean I don't want the hood to look like its obviously new paint. Thanks

I got mine from www.suncoastcreations.com . I wouldnt advise it though because of the quality for the price. i payed $710 for the hood and shipping and i thought the quality sucked for that price.

Average price for these thigns are somewhere in the area of $500-$600 + shipping. Mine was $595+ shipping.

They can match the paint pretty well but it'll cost ya. To match the paint almost perfectly, they would have to paint bumper, fenders, and part of the door. So when you look at it the colors blend.

I got involved in an accident so everything had to be painted anyway, therefor i went w/ the hood.

Now its an extra $200 for the intake box, but i already bought an SLP intake, so i saw no reason of paying another 200 for that intake and sell the slp.

Its a great look for our cars, weights less, and cools off your engine pretty darn quickly when ur cruzing at a constant speed.

Not sure how much it costs to paint....i had it all included in the bill...but he mentioned something like $70 to paint the hood, but thats cause i know him

I have pix of the hood on my car if ur interested, i'll email them to you.

    Good luck.

I would love to see the pics.

I figured the price for the paint job might be around 200=300 for a good job, but judging by the shade of my paint, I doubt they would have to repaint it, I know my front bumper has been repainted because of the over spray under the car, don't know what else has been painted in the front but I've noticed the front of my car seems to be a newer shade of paint, so I think having a hood painted might not have to be blened. Guess I could go down to a paint and body shop ans talk to them about it.
