ebrake handle swap?

I just got my new T-handle and e-brake from speed automotive in today - both are leather and look gorgeous.

I installed my T-handle, easy sneezy with that one clip, hardest part was getting the old one out [img]smile.gif[/img]

My problem deals with the e-brake. It sppears to be riveted on. Speedautomotive sent me the WHOLE G-DAMN EBRAKE ASSEMBLY! Do I need to pull the console to swap ebrakes, or is there an easy way to put the new leather one on? Help!

You can do it w/out changing the whole assembly. But take word from the wise and experienced here. It is way easier 2 remove the console and change the whole assembly than change that damn handle. If you still just want 2 change the handle tell me and I'll tell ya how 2.

How do I go about removing the console? I'll do that if its not terribly difficult... I don't want to drill rivets [img]smile.gif[/img]

If need be I'll just leave what I've got, I mean damn - I don't want to tear up my car to do an appearance mod!

he included the leather ebrake assembly free with purchase of the leather T-handle shifter (according to my bill)

$30 + $12 shipping and I got it 2 days after I ordered it :cool:
