• Cool or Rice?

I feel like making my bare bones v6 camaro into a "RS", now i found that it's mostly apperance stuff, like badges and stripe, but i know it has a special exhaust, should i get the exact same kind from the dealer or could i just get some other kind of exhaust and throw it on there?

What i really want to know is, if i do all this stuff to it, could i really call it an "RS"?, it didn't come that way but it would have all the stuff for it, i just love the car, and would like to do something like that, but don't want to get it posted on "RICECOP".

I have been wanting to do something similar just so when people ask me what i drive i have something better to say than a camaro because they always ask z28? Then i would be able to say no it is an RS not just no. I think i am rambling.

You can do whatever you want to do to your car and you should be happy with whatever you do to it.

So, if your happiness in your car is depending upon my opinion all the way from hawaii, then I'd have to say don't label your car something that it isn't.

I say go for it man! I've done little things like that. My car is a 1990 Camaro RS (for real), but I liked the inside badge from the 1992 Camaro RS that read 25th anniversary under it. My car is basically the same as the 25th anniversary, minus the red racing stripes, but as for saying to someone that it is, I won't, I just like the looks of the writing of the RS letters better.

As for you upgrading to an RS, as far as I can tell you, you're correct in saying that it's basically a body kit and exhaust. I think they look awesome!! Only tip to you, watch for bumps!! hehe! And as for calling it an RS and such, hell I would if I paid that kinda money to make it into one!

So as far as my thoughts go man, go for it!! The only thing I would never do in your case, is put the Z28 emblems and stuff.... now that is towards rice. It'd be like me getting the IROC decals for my doors and panels.... ain't gonna happen unless I got somethin' under the hood to back those decals up.

I hope this was helpful! But I'm all for it, and would love to see pictures before and after!!

As far as the badging and looks goes that's cool but don't get the RS exhaust, get Borla, Flowmaster, B&B etc...... I don't know why you would want to put on a RS exhaust, it's not going to benifit you much and it's pretty much a waste to do.

I do have an opinion on the RS deal, I think to be original is far better than to be able to say you have an RS instead of not just a V6. When you open your exhaust up and what not people will think you have a V8 and you will be proud to tell them that you have a V6. That's the whole point to why some of us stick with our V6's and mod them instead of buying an LT1 or LS1. Even car guys think my car is an 8, it's a great feeling, trust me.

yeah either get the borla or dynomax super turbo.....the flowmasters dont sound very good on our cars, now if u had a v-8 then a flowmaster would sound damn good but with a v-6 i would say dynomax super turbo because it sounds good through the whole rpm range, and as far as the rs badges, yeah get those, they look cool and add a lil to the car
