• T-tops or sunroof?

I currently have a hard top but have seen several t-top conversion and also sunroofs on 4th gens. I really enjoy driving my dads car with a sunroof and would also like to pop the t tops off in the summer. What are your takes on these mods?

I am pretty sure you can't put a sunroof in a 4th gen. The T-top roof bar is in the way and if you cut it you would seriously comprimise the integrity of you car.

Go for the T-tops, Sunroofs are gay anyway.

Not true at all! ;) I've seen 4th gen F-Bodies with sunroofs! And structural integrity with a sunroof is no more comprimised than having t-tops. A hardtop F-body has two additional bars welded into place (one on each side). So with only cutting the center bar, there's two more there. IMHO, it's probably more stucturally sound with a sunroof than t-tops.

But I agree.... sunroofs look horrible on 4th F-bodies! :(

Good point, I didn;t even think of that. Well, the fact still remains that they look gay.

              T-tops

Also, the sun roof thing, even if you removed that center bar and compramised the cars integrity, it would still be the same as having a convertable wouldn't it? I do agree with the bad looks of the sunroof, t-tops may the car look great, I love the way they have the dark tint look to them, and if you get your windows the same darkness, it will look great and all blend together!

Thats better then those other three guys!

                convertables have a stronger frame

also, a t-top conversion will not be easy, nor cheap, thats why people do put those ugle sunroofs on, i would keep it the way it is, and buy your next f-bod as a ttop

I'd go t-top.. sunroof just seems like it belongs on a camry... but I don't know if the price is worth the results.

glass t-tops are heavy and weigh your car down, and yes sunroofs on camaros are GAY. Stick hard top.

                            Sunroof + F-body = extremely ugly

I haven't looked into it but from what I've heard from people on sites is that it's very expensive and doesn't turn out looking all that great. I wanted to do it to my 3rd gen firebird but never did. Isn't the inside shaped like there are T-tops there? Wouldn't that make a sunroof look really stupid on the inside? Your probably better off waiting until you get another F-body to get T-tops.

I think convertables have subframe connectors from the factory

If they bring back the F-body it had better have T-tops
