  • New Idea. On the Rear Deck Mat.

I was think last night and I had an idea about using a peice of metal between the tie downs. I think it looks pretty cool, but I still need to trim the edged to make it contour with the tie downs. It kinda of hard to cut since Im using titanium, I had laying around. It took most of the day just sanding and drilling through it. I would like your opinions on it. But I like it.

The tie down are for the child seat i think. But I get tired of seeing the same thing back there. I have some more ideas coming. I need to find a way to grind the edges of the plate off.

I think it looks good. Definately better than the blank space back there. My only question is... it looks like the firebird emblem is off center, maybe its just the pic. Also, why not relace the hooks with just bolts, would make it look cleaner i think. Good idea though.

That's awesome. I'd buy one of those if you could make one that says Firehawk instead of firebird. How did you do the letters?

It looks like he used the lettering from the doors.

Nice look! My car is such a work horse that I'd get such a nice design dirty and messed up quickly.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Thanks you for the compliments. The emblem was just sitting there that problably why it was off centered. If I made them out the same material (titanium) it would be expensive, but it doesn't scratch as easily as aluminum or stainless steel. If you give me a little time I might produce a few out of stainless steel or aluminum, If get this one perfected. As for the letters, Im going to change those out to like the Firehawk script, that will says Firebird and the door emblems will go on the map pocket, with a brushed silver background. Thankyou again. i'd like to do a mod like that...i wonder how it would work since i don't have those tie-downs, just the plain flat surface.

some questions about the titanium: where can you buy it and how much is it? also, is it possible to drill through it? thanks for any info.
