  • ZAINO Q?

ok well i bought my zaino kit and have been reading up on a few things before i just start and washing my car with this, it says i need the Z1 for my first use but my kit didnt come with Z1. it did come with zfx which i think can be used in Z1 correct?
so let me get this right i need to wash the car with dawn or dish washing detergent(dont really wanna do this but ehh) then do need to claybar the car, then do i MIX the zfx with the Z7(car was) then i use the Z5 as my wax, and to rewaX(PUT Multiple layers on) i just use z5 again or wash the car with Z7? ALL this Z stuff gets kinda confusing as i have been reading the zaino site and another site ERIC help me out

Other people on here have more experience, but I'll help a little to at least set the steps somewhat straight. Wash with dawn, clay the car using diluted Z-7 as a lubricant, wash the car again with Z-7, then mix the droplets of ZFX (it replaces the Z-1 step) with the Z-5 in one of the bottles they give you and apply that. You should do a layer of Z-6 spray between coats too.

Did you get any Z-2? You use that last just like you used the Z-5.

DONT use a lot of dawn. only a couple drops of it will be necessary for stripping the old stuff off.

Dawn the car it won't hurt the finish that bad, you do it like once a year, if even that much.

and use liquid dish soap not something wierd...

I wash the car twice to be thorough...

Then clay it hten use the car wash stuff afterwards, i woudl wassh twice again.

when you wash the car the first time and its real dirty use to buckets, so you rinse the sponge in seperat water ten the soap.

you mix the ZFX(follow the directions) with Z5, no need for Z1, that was a product needed before invention of ZFX. Put the coat on, make it a thin coat.

              Remove it.

then do a quick coat of Z6 spray detailer.

Then do another thing coat of Z5.

              Then remove it.

Then coat of Z6 spray detailer.

Then do another coat with Z2, mixed with zfx.

and if you want to, another coat of Z6.

shoudl be done since they only reccomend 3 coats in 24 hour period. If you have time I like to let the coat sit on the car for like an hour or so, before I remove it. not sure if it matters, but I usually just do it and go and do something else around the house to break up car wash process.

                  z2 IS for clear coat...

                  http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino

z3 is for non-clear coat cars... If you bought the starter kit you wouldn't even get z3 unless you ordered it special.

99% of the cars in the world have clearcoat finishes, the starter kit is prepared for a clearcoat car.

This is my opinion and thoughts...

ZFX, used to mix with z2 and z5 to help it dry faster and elimintates the need of Z1

Z2, used as your last coat, it helps with the optics but it also is very useful in protection

Z5, used to fill swirls and scratches and give the car a "deeper" shine. Most dullness of a car is because the finish is not flat and smooth. This helps fix what hasn't been buffed out and such. I feel this should be used the most.

Z6, Detailing spray, this stuff is good to it enhances the gloss, it does a great job, but I really think its great when used between coats, because it seems to last longer, and not only that since you go over the car again it verifys you removed all excess wax.

Z7, car wash soap good soap to use clean the car, smells good enough to eat. I heard it has some aspects of Z2 in the formula, so even just washing iwth it helps add on to the car.

                      Z18, is the clay bar...

PS I also like using hot water when I wash, not sure if it helps on the car, but my experience is washing just about anything anywhere, hot water helps it come off better then cold water.
