you may pay around a grand for a high quality hood, but I've heard nothing but complaints about the mecham hoods. They sure look sweet, but from most people I've read that have them, they can only gripe about how horrible the fitment is or how much excessive prep work was needed.

The fitment and prepwork are ridiculous. I cannot recommend their hood for the bird. Trust me on this one. Although, I do like their exhaust system they sell. It sounds great and was no problem for my shop to install. I've heard nothing but compliments about my exhaust. I have the oval 7.5 chrome tips as well. Prodyno makes their exhaust system.

That hood looks 100 times better on the firebird. For some reason, it just doesn't fit the camaro's image ;imo

You need to study up on your F-body history.

Its not a "Type R" its a Z29R. Z29's and Z29R's were dealer modified production Camaro's made back in 1979. They were (at the time) the best handling and braking you could get (Corvette handling prowess) Plus they got some noteable engine performance upgrades as well.

A Z29 and Z29R are nothing to laugh about, they'll roast you like You're the rice!!!
