• Weaker Hood Stuts for Fiberglass hood.

Anyone know where I can get less powerfull hood struts for a fiberglass hood? I don't wan't to have to resort to a hood prop.

I couldn't find any. I was told that some of the aftermarker hoods come with new struts made for the lighter weight. I just made a hood prop.

had the same problem. i went to a junkyard and jacked a pair of an SS. those were too short. so i went back and got em off a trans am, or what i thought was a WS6. those ended up being the exact ones i had before.

so. if you want the cheapest possible route. remove the driver side strut. your passenger one is strong enough to hold the fiberglass one up. mines been like that for about 4-5 weeks now with no problems
I guess I\'d have answer your question with another question.

How many Abidiginals do you see in modeling??????

headers, 3inch magnaflow cat, Loudmouth
99 Midnight Blue Firebird
3.8L A4

That gives me an Idea, maybe I will relocate the stut to the front of the hood. I could be like a collapsable hood prop.

Too strong, when you try and close the hood you risk ****ing it up. When you get a fiberglass/lighter hood it comes with weaker struts/props so you dont damage it when you close it :D
