Has anyone polished the 3.8 upper intake?

only upper intakes I have seen have been painted. I have seen polished tb's but not upper intakes.

it would take some work, since there is some texture to it, but a mirror finish on that thing would be awesome. isn't it aluminum?

much more polishing is in the works, you can be sure of that.

throttle body is next.

ill be polishing underneath the car soon as well.

yea I have a tb I tried polishing, what a big pain in the butt with all the little areas, think I am just going to paint it.

im taking mine off this easter break and bringing it back to school with me along with the dremel and an army's worth of sandpaper. :)

Loochy I looked at your cardomain, and it is sick man, everything under your hood is polished, I especially Liked the polished radiator cover. How'd you do that man. its sick. and definatly post some picks of the polished intake, I'd definatly like to do that.

eh, I think the reason you've only seen them painted is because they're cast-iron, I attemted to polish just the 3800, and it didnt work....you might wanna check into it before you break out the paper.

I polished my 3800 letters on my intake really nice. Hardly took any effort with some sand paper

huh, guess I used the wrong stuff then...but I could've sworn I read and it was on this site, that the intake was cast iron....but the "I could be wrong" statement sits for my defense :cool:

maybe you read that the exhaust manifolds are cast iron. That is what the stock logs are on our cars.
