    red dome/map lights :)

    went out and bought a red permanent marker and gave the three bulbs a good few coatings..the true test will be to see if the ink burns off after being on for a long time..if it does i'll just get the LED ones off of ebay..but for now they look AWESOME :)

        can you just buy the bulbs from ebay or something cuz I wanna change my map lights and my light thats in the backseats to red or a brighter hid color

              Wow, i really like those map lights.. thats pretty cool. But man, how can you read those gauges? Thats pretty intense on the eyes :eek:

                haha..yeah that gauge face is pretty crazy..it came out so bright in the photos..its really a bit more dull..im going to be changing it anyway..i want to get one thats just all white with red numbers/text

                  I did my map lights and dome light in blue. I even did my light in the glove box.

                  For my map lights, I removed the plastic lense and lightly spray painted them. I was wondering if the heat would burn off the paint, but two years later everything seems as good as when I did them.
                  For the dome and glove box lights I found plastic covers that go over the bulbs. I think I got them at AutoZone. I was worried they would melt, but so far so good.

                      I used Krylon PlasticKote to spray the plastic lenses on the map lights. I just lightly sprayed it though.

                          as an update..the ink did eventually burn off the bulbs..and they went back to looking stock

                          so i took the covers off the map lights and dome light and coated them over with the permanent marker on the outside of the covers..now they look even better than before and that ink isnt going anywhere :) ..dont know why i didnt just do that first

                            On this subject, I got a set of licence plate LED's from Walmart a couple years ago, pulled them out of the screw mounts, re-attached the resistors, and used one to replace my ashtray light and one to repace my shift light on my auto..blue is soo cool.
