  • The ding king, a review.

I didnt believe it until i tried it.

My fiance's eclipse GT recently got a nice couple of dings despite our best efforts to avoid them. We considered paintless dent removal, but I saw a couple of positive reviews for the ding king online, and i figured what the heck. for 15 bucks or so off ebay it was worth a shot.

    Here are my results:

    the before picture:

you can see two dings in this picture. the one just behind the door handle is the one i had high hopes for. i tried it on the one over the wheel, and had some success, but just as the ding king claims, it will not remove dents near the edge of panels, so it is still visable.

I followed the directions included perfectly. I let the glue warm up for 5 min, stuck it on the dent (used the smaller pad) and let it cool for 5 minutes. Then, i just twisted at an even pace. Suddenly i heard what sounded like a hammer hitting the sheetmetal, and the pad popped off. I didnt think anything had happened, but to my suprise most of the dent was gone.

    Have a look:

I constantly hear people make fun of these things, saying theyll never work, but for 20 bucks, i thought it was worth a shot. Im glad we tried it, and i'd recommend it if you have a small ding (not crease) on a relatively flat part of the car not near the end of a panel.

If the owners of The Ding King want to impress me, have them put it to the test of this Ferrari.

As for your pics, I can't really make out the dents or aftermath too well. Them's be sum BIG pics!

And I still think you should go with chrome so you can remain the lone exile from the chromie club.

Re: The ding king, a review.

ive heard A TON of stories about the ding king...my dad owns the business Quality Dent Repair, and ive been helping him out for the past couple years and trying to learn a little...

Hes had ppl come for business and have used that thing, and some say that it took most of the dent out, and some must do it wrong, and it gets worst.

I think by doing it exactly how the directions say, and the dent is in an open area(not a corner) or a crease, and not too deep...you cant beat 20 bucks- worth a shot, but if you fail you end up paying to get the rest of it fixed anyway, and youll pay for that...

I guess its personal preference, but i think its worth a shot

As long as the dent does not have a crease, huge in size, or spidered paint, the dent king should work. It's for those minor dents that are caused by a kid throwing a ball, door to door bump, too much drinking one night and a fight broke out that threw some a-hole into my car, ...etc.
