17" all around or 17/18"

I've decided on the wheels I"m getting but now I'm stuck on weither or not to go with 17 inch all around or 17 front and 18" back. I think the 17/18 combo would look nice but I have two major conserns. One is how much of a noticeble difference will the 18's slow my acceleration down? 2ndly I'm sure for tires its going to cost a lot more because you have to buy different sets of tires for front/back. and you can't rotate them... How do you guys maintain and care for a combo like this? Do the front tires not have to be replaced as much since they 17's will always stay on the front and I'll only have to replace the rear ones every once in awhile?

Lastly whats a good brand tire and size for the rims? I can't find any package deals. Is 18" tire sizes going to be THAT much more expensive?

Sorry I know its a lot of questions I just need some basic info here.

Thanks guys.. Kristen, Its actually going to be the same rims you have on your car. Hope you don't mind lol, if it helps I've been debating about them for a year or so now. What brand/size tires did you use and where did you buy the rims from? Ebay? I can't find them 17 all round on ebay or with tires. Just wondering if you know of the best place to get them.

im with shirl and kristen. also it can sometimes be a pain to find a tire you like in 2 different sizes.

alsome, they are sweet rims, and yes i did get them from ebay. i got my tires from tire rack only cause i wanted the best tires i could find. your car will look great with these rims, i would add a little more black to your car, stripes or something to really make them pop! good luck

I had them install tires for me, and they mounted, balanced and came w/lugs and locking lugs. I got that all for $874. Mind you, it was a local pickup, so there was no shipping. I was happy w/them, and they provided good service and quality product, IMO.

LOL thanks BlackMaro, Its funny that you sent that link because I just bought those exact ones from that buyer. No tires on it though. Didn't know you could request a package deal. Probably should have... Oh well I will just purchase some later I guess. Couldn't do pick up any the shipping would be more expensive anyhow.

Kristen: I was thinking about putting on the black Firebird GT racing stripes? You know the ones I'm talking about? I think they will look hot on my car with those rims. What do you think? Your ride looks really sexy. You and your Future husband did a fantastic job. I give you credit!!!! Major credit!!
What Tires did you decide to go with btw? brand and size?

Your car is gonna look sweet w/those rims. I don't think I've seen a bird w/C5 rims yet...
