    Re: car panels

Remove the plastic triangle in the corner
Remove the power window/locks (it pops out so get a screw driver or something under it)
Remove plastic cover over door lever and unhook metal door lock bar from plastic clip
Remove remaining screw from door panel
Lift panel up and off the door

              Re: car panels

are you trying to recover the door panels in leather? if so, i have seen a couple of guides for doing this on this board i think. if not here, check ls1.com. why do you need another one of those strips at the top? i took mine off and reinstalled it because it was causing a crack in the door panel. did it get broken or something?

                  Re: car panels

i just used a screw driver, pliers, and vice grips and slowly worked them off. mine didn't get bent up and i just drilled some holes and used rivits to put it back on.

                      Re: car panels

without seeing the part, i have no idea if it can be fixed, but if it's bad enough you aren't pretty sure you can, my reaction is no. i'll try to find the write up in a minute, and i doubt that you can buy just that strip. you probably have to buy a new door panel. or somehow make one (the strip that is, not the panel).

i tried to find the guide, and i can't find it either. to be honest, the only advice i can give you is to look at it and try to figure out how it's held together and come up with something. if i remember the guide correctly, to remove that small panel from the door you have to melt some plastic tabs (in such a way they can be put back on or figure out some other way to reattach the smaller panel to the door panel), remove the smaller panel and recover it, then reattach the smaller panel to the door panel.
