  • Introduction, new Firebird

Didn't really know where to put this as there is no "Noob"/Intro section, but since i'm including pics I figured here is best. I just picked up my first domestic sports car(everything prior was an import). It's a 2002 Firebird W68. I've wanted a Firebird for as many years as I've been able to drive, and finally took the plunge. I found the car at a local dealership and lowballed the heck out of them for the 'bird. I honestly didn't think I would even come close to my asking price, but they needed the sale to meet their end-of-month quotas. I pretty much stole the car from them when everything was said and done, so I'm a happy camper.

Not much done to it since I just bought it a couple weeks ago. I upgraded wheels and tires first thing though. I can't stand the wide fenders on the firebird with those high offset stock wheels. The new wheels are AFS ZR1 replicas bought off Ebay. They are 17x9.5 +38, and 17x11 +36.5 with Sumitomo tires all the way around(275/40/17, 315/35/17). I definately wanted the wide look so I went with the 84-87 'Vette offsets. I am soooo glad I did. I have no rubbing on the rear at all(inside or out). I get a tiny bit of rubbing in the front at full lock when I back out of my driveway since I have to go out at a severe angle to avoid scraping. And to all you nay-sayers who think 315's in the rear of a V6 is overkill, you can kindly refer all comments to the women who are throwing their panties at me when I drive by.

Next up is to get rid of the stupid sagging exhaust. I've included a couple pics I took this afternoon. I look forward to spending all my time at work surfing the site!

Looks nice. I like the wide tires. Looks like that front ground effect is in rough shape, but thats easily fixed. And wow, that exhaust IS in rough shape.

nice car. I havent noticed anyone saying 315s are too big for a v6. Are you letting your v8 friends get to you? :p

Yeah. The drivers side is cracked pretty good also. I'm looking around for a wings west front air dam, but I would like to get some performance mods done first.
