Paint color?

I've loved bright yellow for so long, but everyone I know tells me it will be ugly. I'm in love with viper's car (turbov6camaro.com) and I want to do practically the same paint scheme. I want millenium corvette yellow, black ralley stripes, and berger...maybe in a year or so some tTII's. However, I've considered other paint colors as well. My car is black as it is, and I don't hink I'm going to pay to have engine bay and doorjambs painted... way too much money. I can get the paintjob for around $1300 from my girlfriend's dad's friend, he owns a shop.

Long story short, i can't decide on a color... it will be a few months before I get
it done, but right now I'm thinking either millenium yellow or SOM, car is a 1997 Camaro... help me chose.

1) black is the best color

2) dont do a completely new color unless youre willing to go all the way. it'll look ****y w/ black jams and engine bay.

It is also more expensive to get a color change. Black is a pretty sweet color, get it repainted and use silver accents (ie: stripes, etc).

Black is way too hard to keep clean here in Arkansas. Not only that, but there are tons of other black fbodies around here, I want something different. I'm not going to get black again, it will be a paint change. If I got SOM, I will probably spring and get the jambs and maybe engine bay painted... but if I do yellow, I'm not going to. Going for a black/yellow theme, it'll be fine.

SOM, dawg. its the best color ever. never seen it on an lt1 style car, so it would be unique.

It won't look good. I don't care what the theme is. If your exterior is yellow and you open your door and all you see is black, its gonna be :tdown: Sure black is hard to take care of, but tell me your not going to pamper and baby the hell out of a new paint job of any color

Well of course I would, but the fact is I can't keep it clean daily. Plus, I just don't want black. I want something that no one else has. Granted, there is an SOM LS1 SS somewhere in my area, it's riced out with underglow, euro tail lights, windshield banner, ugly rims, the works. Gah, so many options. I even though of NBM, but that would be tough just like black.

Purple. Do a dark purple so the black won't look out of place if you don't paint it.

2. black is the best color.

3. since you are dead set on a change, i'd go SOM or NBM. Just don't halfass it, if you're going to do a color change do it right, or don't do it. Save up the money if that's the issue. Plus, if you ever sell ::gasp:: your car, a crappy paint job KILLS your resale.

The only way I would not paint jambs and engine bay is if it were yellow, it wouldn't look at all bad, it would flow, imo. I'm considering SOM now, although I think it looks much better on vettes and transams than my car. It still looks sharp, but it's something to think about.

i dont think the black would look gooed even w/ yellow, b/c it wouldnt be like a clean even edge, it would have overspray and **** from the edge of the doors and hood.

MY Camaro is black I dont think any other color out there that makes it look better but black comes with the price of being one of the dirtiest colors, BUt for me i have fallin in love with an Orange not a bunt Orange u see on 350z but a normal Orange. There is a 1997 SS F-body that lives on the road going to my school and me and him past eachother everyday and his car is tight.
