  • Euro Style lights on 98 Firebird

    Hi guys,
I have the standard red honeycomb pattern rear lights and the two circular reverse lights etc on my 98 Firebird.

a few days ago I saw a 25th Anniversary Trans Am with Euro style lights etc

Anyone know if Euro style lights are available for the 98 Firebird

    Hi !

Yes, they fit also in a 98+ Firebird but you have to change the wiring.

BUT you dont really want this ugly lights ??

Here in Europe every Bird has them on and 60% here change to 93-97 US Firebird or Transam lights or Honeycombs (like me),.....

The lights in the EU Taillights are follow (left side):

Turn Signal, Brake/normal light, Reverse light, Foglight

You do realize that those are just the stock '93-'97 Formula/Trans Am lights, don't you? If you really want to switch to those, get them off Ebay for 30 bucks or something, then sell your honeycombs for big money.

          Thanks for the replies,
I agree those particular lights are ugly. The rather thick lined black mask over the coloured lenses detracts from the look. I do prefer the honeycomb ones but I was thinking of when I take my car home (UK), where the red lenses have to be replaced to comply with the SVA rules we have there. Not being too familiar with Firebirds of the 90's I didn't know the subtle differences regarding the rear lights. Thanks again to you all.

I could be wrong but I believe that Firebirds for export added the
amber rear directionals where as the domestic (usa) version had the
cheaper (less functional) all red...for turning, brake, running.

I think the European birds got the better system. Corvettes for export have rear amber directionals but usa version have all red.
