  • Need Opinions - Blackouts?

I need some opinions on this...I've gone back and forth and just can't decide what looks better. I have blackouts for the taillights and I've had them on for a while. Everything on the car is black, white, or chrome. I liked the all black look, but I sort of like how it looks without the blackouts. In a car wash one came off and got scratched up a bit. No one else really notices it, but of course I do.

I'm debating on whether or not to keep the covers, go back to normal taillights, or nite-shade them just like I did to the 3rd brake light.

Here are some pictures with and without the blackouts.

    Thanks!!

I'm normally not a fan of blackouts but they look sick on your car, my vote goes to leave them on...

I vote to keep them or night-shade the whole light minus the reverse light to keep the white thing going. my only beef with night-shading your taillights is that if all of a sudden, you got a new cop in town that wanted to prove himself by pulling you over for your black taillights, then you would not just be able to easily pull them off. I don't think you want that now do you :p

Yeah, I thought about nite-shading everything except for the reverse light. Is there anyone that's good at photoshopping that could give me an idea of what it would look like?

I'm not too worried about any cops pulling me over. I've read through Michigan's traffic laws and blackouts on the taillights is legal. However blackouts on the headlights is illegal. Haven't had any problems with cops so far, so I'll take my chances.

Thanks for the opinions guys. The more I look at it the more I'm realizing the blackouts look much better.

i like the photoshop that blldogg did, b/c it keeps 2 colors. however, the whole reason i did blackouts and not vht, was the simple reason of getting pulled over. although i haven't w/this car and i've had for 2 years, i got pulled over once in my 3rd gen. that was in college on campus by the campus police who have sticks up their.... well you get the idea. my vote is blackouts!

Thanks for labeling which ones had blackouts cause I wouldn't be able to tell otherwise. :p

i've got blackouts on my black firebird and love em... no offense to anyone here but i just don't like them on any other colors besides white and black cars.

id either leave the black outs on or do what blldogg did, then the only thing out of place would be that blue lisence plate, but you cant do anything about that. i usaully hate the RS spolier, but it looks real good on your car.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to keep the blackouts. Now it's the decision on whether or not to do the thing blldogg suggested. Thanks for all of the opinions!!
