  • A few pics of my '96 Camaro

After seeing some of the awesome cars here, I thought I'd introduce mine to the group. Appearance-wise, I'm happy with it and won't be changing anything. I like it just the way I've worked to get it at. Performance is something that will keep changing though.

The engine will be getting some upgrades soon, and the missing clip on the shroud has been re-installed.

Yeah. The front plate thing sucks big time. And it's even worse in the area that I live. Some LEOs wil overlook it around the state. Not here. You'll get treated like organized crime if caught without it.

I have some chrome fill-ins for the lettering in back, but I like it understated how it is now. Eventually, I might paint the back panel in black to give it the GMMG look. That's something I've spent a few years debating over already. So, I don't see myself resolving it any time soon.

The seats are stock, believe it or not. Kind of a rare combo for our cars. The spoiler and hood are American Sports Car Design's SS inspired pieces. The spoiler actually cost more than the hood. Both items are excellent quality pieces with no fitment issues.

Thanks for the compliments. It's nice to hear when you're doing something right.

It looks like it, maybe a little more shallow on the flip than mine was. Yeah, it was expensive!! And I'm a poor-boy. But, the car had suffered minor damage in the front from knocking into a deer (it walked away), and the insurance was covering all the front-end repairs. And, the ASCD hood was cheaper than a stock replacement, so a little of that savings went into the spoiler. I was pissed, upset, sick over hitting that deer, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It pushed me to make my car the way I wanted it.

Here it is in stock form:

yeah the ascd spoiler has a bigger flip, if i ever get the money for a spoiler, that ones on the top of my list.

looks really cool, kinda like 2nd gens.

hehe every once and a while i wonder what my insurance would cover.:naughty:

Re: A few pics of my '96 Camaro

I got lucky, I gave my insurance rep a few quotes and he simply asked me who I was comfortable with in doing the work. I told him, and he wrote the check. No questions asked. Sadly, I ended up dumping the company when they kept jacking up the insurance on my '00 Vette. They began gouging me thinking I was made of money. I'm just addicted to cool toys, is all.

                        Thanks.

I'll be hoepfully installing a set of ceramic-coated Pacesetters pretty soon. And then look into getting it tuned. There also seems to be some issue with the tranny shifting sooner than it should. The car has had the heads re-worked and a cam change done by me a few winters ago. I'll be looking forward to a tune where it'll uncork some of that potential.
