Well, I have a 96 camaro RS (black), and im trying to find a good hood to go on it, ive done alot of research but cant figure out what I want. I dont care too much for the SS hood, a normal cowl hood doesnt fit me very well, but the spread cowl (dont know what that version is called) where it spreads from the nose to the window looks decent. But all in all im trying to figure out what kind of hood would look good on my car. If anyone can supply pics it would be great, cardomain hasnt been very helpful lol. I know there are hoods like the Ultra-Z and some other things, but I cant find many good examples on the older 4th gens, its all on the new 4th gen. Any pics and oppinions would be appreciated.

This is one of my favorites on early fourth gen. I like this style and just the stock hood looks good.

i think its called the stingray hood, since thats what it is.

looked ugly on stingrays, and looks worse on camaros. imo

For a good quick idea of what hoods are out there for early 4th-gens, go to Year One's website and look at the offerings from various manufacturers. There's also such places as f-bodymotorsports and hawk's third-gen (it has 4th-gen parts).

                  I think its a little overkill for a v6.

What does it being a v6 have anything to do with it?

                      Re: Hood choices

the only early 4th gen cars i have seen with that hood is BUILT z-28s and dragsters, i say go with the cowl hood for an early 4th gen not a huge 4in raised one but something simple that makes yours stand out and different without having too much. that hood is exactly like that for me. the cowl look is just clean. but whatever you like, just my .2

                      come get some

Because, like stated above, most cars with that kind of hood are super built v8s and dragsters that need the BIG BLOCK room for the BIG BLOCK motor. It's kinda like slapping a SS badge on a crappy beat up v6 (not saying his is..).

Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
