  • Headlight question

Im sure you've heard this quite a few times, but ive been doing some research and havnt gotten any good straight answers. I have a 96 camaro, and want to replace my headlights with something brighter, some silverstars or such. Since they dont offer a full headlight in our size, I was planning on breaking the silicone off of the ones on the existing bulbs and siliconing some silverstars in it. How in dept are the modifications for this? and any recommendations on products to use or ways of going about it? and what size bulb exactly is it?

I wanted to get a sealed beam conversion kit, but they are absurdly priced. Any help would be greatly appereciated.

    Re: Headlight question

It's a very easy process. Use high temp silicone when installing the new bulbs, and let the silicone dry overnight before applying the headlights.

9005 are the highbeam bulbs, and 9006 are the lowbeams.

I have done a small writeup on this about 1 or 2 months ago. Try a search if you need any more info.

        FYI: I've tried a few different brands of bulbs (9005 & 9006) and ~by far~ I like Sylvania Silverstar's the best!
