  • Any interior gurus?

I've looked around and didn't see any how-to's for interior refurbishing. (Cloth to leather is what I seek.) Has anyone ever done this?

what kind of f-body? camaro or firebird?

      Camaro door panels: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/340797/9
      Firebird door panels: http://www.lastofthebreed.com/Instal.../DoorPanel.htm

i hear both are a real PITA but i know from experience that the camaro door panel upgrade is very annoying and difficult to do correctly. some others on the board may not agree with me but i tried it about 3 weeks ago and just decided to take the door panels to an upholsterer and let him do it. rather them look professional and like they belong and spend some money to get it that way than have them look like crap and be able to say i did it on my own. just depends on if you wanna take a crack at it.

as far as seats...either find you some leather seat covers or seats from a stock leather interior camaro/firebird on ebay or on one of the message boards. good places to get some seat covers are auto-interior.com, wetokole.net, gtcovers.com, and there are more just do a search and see what others have used.

Heartbeat, how much did the shop you went to charge to upholster your door panels? I'm trying to do it myself, but it's a *****...

Do leather covers make it look like real leather? I have always though of any seat covers to be kind of weird looking cause they dont have any seams that are actually part of the seat.

Are their any good seat covers that you know of?

www.leatherseats.com has good f-body leather replacement covers. "replace the cloth with leather not cover it" like 700+ it is front and back and i think its got teh doors to.

the guy owns a small shop so he quoted me like $100 for the doors. which is a great deal from what i hear. i think i just got lucky cause others i've talked to say they got charged like $100 per door or more. just gotta shop around without sacrificing quality. and yes...its a b****. i made it through the deinstall...then went back to reinstall the panels and said "screw this...i'd rather it look professional than say i did it myself." then called this guy and took em right over.

as far seat covers looking like they belong...if you custom order them from the sites that have been mentioned in this thread already...you can almost bet that they'll look like they belong. i got mine from auto-interior.com and they fit like a glove...literally. they were a pain to install but they look like they are supposed to be there. just stay away from the universal stuff and make sure the company you order from specifically mentions that the covers are for your car and you should be fine.
