I was wandering if the doors off of a 98 or new firebird will fit onto a 97. I am wandering cause the idiot who had my car before screwed up the power window motor and now I have to buy a new door and I like the panels in the 98 and up with the tweeter

im pretty sure the doors are the same (i know they are for camaros.. not sure about birds)

but the only difference should be the interior piece

Yes the door will fit, but there is no need to replace the door for the panel and the window motor. First, window motors dying is very common on our cars. Go to autozone and pick up a new one with a life time warranty for $50 and spend the few hours (it takes a while the first time you do one) to do it yourself. Second, the door panels you are describing were available for 97s also. They just had to have the monsoon speaker system.

the owners of the car before me had messed up the door when they replaced the window motor by drilling out huge holes instead of just the rivets and then just used a little bit of fiberglass to try to patch it up. When that motor when my mechanic discovered this and tryed to use washers to fix it put told me that I would need a new door soon so a few weeks passed and when I rolled down the window I heard it hit kinda hard so I rolled the window back up and the front part of the window was about an inch lower then it should be so I am looking to replace the door to fix the whole thing

Ok, just wanted to make sure you weren't buying a new door for just the window motor. Sucks that the last owner was an idiot.
