Well I've had my '99 Camaro for a while now, it has 104k miles, and is still running strong. Tomorrow I will be giving her a tune-up, oil change, and tranny fluid change too. Well, the body is in need of some help. Here's some pics....

First, an overall shot showing that for a stock car it still looks nice.


I'm looking to get a paint job but I was wondering if I could buff out some of the imperfections. Here's a shot of something that's definitley beyond buffing......

Suggestions?

Clearcoat starting to chip off......crap.


Here's what happened to my rim. Any suggestions? (other than new rims)


Also, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good "polish" product for my rims? Obviously they are stock and I just like how they look. I want to clean them up the best I can.

well the best thing i have used for chips adn deep scraches for now i would get this stuff from turtle wax called "Color Cure". It comes in all different colors and i have seen it in red. Its a polish for ur paint and it comes with a fillin chip stick to fill in chips and smooth out the paint. cant help ya on the rims sorry but good luck with the paint.

I second the color cure. I used it on my black camaro and it took out a ton of chips and scratches.

to get your rims nice and clean and shiny get a bottle of meguiars hot rims all wheel cleaner. it works amazingly well. my 95 salad shooters were sparkling in the sunlight after i washed em with it.

its also a good idea to keep the wheels waxed. afterall they are another painted surface.

to clean up the lip your best bet is to just go at it and wet sand it.

I never thought of waxing my rims. Great suggestion.

I almost bought that Color Cure stuff one day but didn't think it would work. I'll have to try it now.

Get this though......last night a buddy of mine that owns a little car lot said he has a guy come to his lot every Thursday to do touch-up painting for $80 a car. He told me to drop my Camaro off any Thursday.

I was wondering if that's a good deal? I wonder how much better it will actually look? Has anyone had their car professionally "touched-up"?

Are we just talking about cleaning products? I've Bleche Whit works good on the tires, and a little bit of tire wet.

I was looking more toward what to do about the thousand of little nicks on the nose and hood of my car. The second and third picture are the "problem areas". Thanks though.
