Aftermarket Steering Wheel...

Hey, anyone replace their stock steering wheel with an aftermarket one. I know that you're not supposed to since they come factory with air bags, but theres gotta be a way around it...Keep me posted..

Got any pics? Curious to see how it looks. What kind of weight savings is that? maybe 5-7 punds losing the airbag?

man the stock whel alone is heavy as balls then add the air bag its ridiclious the momo with hub weights like 6-7lbs

i have a grant wheel in mine, whoever had my car before was too cheap to fix the airbag so they put that wheel in it. I've driven with both, i prefer the grant one, its smaller, lighter, and plus it just looks badass. I'll post a pic tomorrow, if anyones interested.

yeah definetley. I'm curious to see how the aftermarket one looks up against the rest of the column. Sometimes it looks terrible because of the void left from the stock one.

VR4's momo fits the interior nicely, looks good to me(kinda was jealous) if you got the $$ and the know how go for it

Well, I was gonna get the Grant wheel, but when I went to purchase it I wasn't able to get a mounting kit...Was told one wasn't available for that car ( 95' Firebird). I know there has to be one that fits though...What should I do to get one...The stock wheel is F***** Ugly!

1969-2002 is all the same hub wise jsut tell them you have a 69 or so.. because there is an airbag in the 95 they claim they don't have an adapter for it

How did you deal with the Airbag circuit? Dash light?
