  • 1993-1997 Firebird Bumper to 1998-2002 Trans Am Bumper?

So what all do I need to swap a 1998-2002 Trans Am REAR bumper onto a 1995 Firebird? Besides the obvious bumper itself am I going to need anything else? Any recommendation on where to by such a bumper(and anything else needed) and whats a fair price on a used(and new?) one. How to remove the old and how to install the new bumper?

    Thanks

I thought all 93-02 Trans Am rear bumpers looked the same. Am I wrong?

I thought the same thing. It should just bolt right on in replacement. The front however is different. The hood's different, the lights, one's longer, etc etc

It is very easy. I did it. I got mine from a salvage yard.

Yes it mounts up exactly the same as our stock firebird bumpers are mounted...

I just assumed the 1998-2002 was different so thats why I put that.

Thank you FirebirdGT for that link, I see A LOT of stuff I want to buy and they are cheaper then majority of things on ebay.

So I do not need any new reinforcement(styrofoam, w/e is under there)???

So what tools do I need, and HOW do I remove my old bumper(and i'm guessing if it mounts up as the firebird one then I guess just do the reversal for the new one?)

            Thanks again guys

From the inside wheel well theirs nuts you need to unscrew on both sides. Thats were i messed up on mine. Then just go around the outside of the bumper unscrewing everything off. After you take the bumper off just replace it with the T/A one and screw it on. Its that easy. Use the same bumper foam.
