Yes. You also need the plastic piece that goes over the rear top brackets as well.

Congradulations! You have changed the structural change that will make your car handle on turns that has to be experienced to truly be appreciated. You have also cut $1000+ off the resale value.

          1. Congratulations. You have effectively demonstrated your lack of English skills.

          2. Subframe Connectors.

          3. Take a look at my cardomain sometime. I bought this car for $3200 in 2004. It has 190,xxx miles on it. Its modifications include an intake that involved CUTTING (oh noes!!1) stuff in the engine bay. The car has a loud, obnoxious header-back exhaust system. All the factory engine bay grounds have been relocated.

Does it really seem to you that I care about the resale value of this car? :spank:

98 yours looks done right i think the guy in the link did a poor job the pop rivets and hammered down steel is noticable and i was wondering if u have any pics of those areas of yours close up because i wanna do mine but i want it to look like it came from factory.

            thanks!

greenwithNV, I can get some detailed pics of that area when I'm home for the weekend and have a camera available. You are correct that I didn't use pop rivets. However, you do have to cut and hammer some metal pieces. I just covered everything real nicely with fiberglass. And actually I need to go back and touch up the fiberglass before I actually paint it (instead of the current primer).

for the 100th time, t-top conversions do NOT i repeat do NOT change the structural support at all. and FYI, if its done right no one can tell its not factory, vin number dont say weather its a t-top or hard top and neither do the RPO codes, there's no way in knowing.

I don't know how you can be so sure about that. Why would there be welded in pieces over the doors if there wasn't any structural support? I would think there would be some, but no different than a normal t-top car.

the peices are just the door frame, they weigh under a 1lb together, they dont do anything. ive personally felt the weight of them when we did kyle's car. they're just there so the door can close against something. ask other people that have done the swap, i was shocked at how light/thin it all was. the only "structual sopport" is that big bar that runs in the middle, and even that can be removed ( a handful of people have done it over on ls1tech and none have any problems.) with subframe connector's and other suspension mods there doesnt seem to be an issue.

EDIT: heres a picture of kyles car, i though i took one of the bar itself but i guess not. anyway, look where the window ends, and notice how thin the bar is that was there, its nothing guys.

just take your time bending the weather stripping "rails" and bondoing/fiberglassing and it could look BETTER than factory.
