hey.
im thinking about re-doing my interior. i personally think it would look better black. so my plans are to pretty much repaint all the plastics to be black, and use carpet paint to get my carpets black. where can i find that stuff, ive never seen it, ive just heard about people using it. do they sell it at like a walmart.
most good auto parts stores have it like napa, autozone, csk auto and auto paint stores have it but its kinde expensive like 11 bucks a can and youll need alot to do you whole interior. you could look into junk yards for plastics ans jc whitney sells quality carpet kits. i put one in my car and its great. otherwise those kind of stores should have it, and another thing when you do it make sure that its clean and oil free or it will peel off in no time. good luck
I updated my interior when I fist bought it in 01. For alot of it I got black crushed velvet material and glued it over with 3M spray adhesive from Autozone. Then over areas that had cloth I tucked a snow leapord velour material as highlights. Honestly people would joke on me when they heard about but then when they saw it in person they would be like "Damn". It held up ok, but then when my car was broke into last year they ripped it all out to be ****s. i'm going to replace it with black and red crush velvet this springtime hopefully. Good luck with your interior, just take your time and it will look great I'm sure.
did you jsut say you had black and leopard crushed velvet interior?
as for making the carpet black, I woudl look into just buying a new one I think they are like $100.
snow leapord... and I could add you to the list of people who had the same reaction until they saw it. I got the idea from a stingray I saw at a car show when I was young.
P.S. The girls down at the strip in Va Beach loved it!!
So lets see pics? And did you cover the plastic panels with the velvet too?
Thats mostly what I covered. I'll see if I can get scanner here at work to actually work of some of the original pics because ...

My seat was normal then my dad found a seat cover that matched the snow leapord. I had a steering wheel cover for this also.
I had black crushed velvet on backseat area panels, over top hatch area carpet, had amps mounted here, over all of door pieces except cloth area.
I had snow leapord over radio trim, speaker grilles in backseat area, cloth area of doors, and shifter knob.
Back to the dude doing his interior its pretty easy to take the grey to black. A few coats will do for that. Any other color and you might need like MANY coats as I found out. So remove the trim pieces, rough them down to say a 200 grit starting with an 80 (dude its gonna take hours of this ****, seriously hours) rub it off with some mineral spirits. until there is nothing comming off, like clean. Then hit it with the black, Krylon works good, Duplicolor is the bomb for factory color also. I just dont like dupilcolors chipping later on under normal use. Krylons damn hard. Let me knwo what you find out about carpet, I am in that market also ATM.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
