I've noticed that a couple members have different headlight covers than me on their 93-97 Camaros. Mine are Vent Shades and they attach with velcro around the edge of the headlight enclosure. Other members like theGr8Schlotzky and rt1 have a different model that is attached within the headlight enclosure. I don't like the look of my Vent Shades so I want to know what brand is the kind that doesn't overlap and attach on the bumper fender, but attaches within the headlight enclosure?

i have a set of Wade covers, the velcro attachments are behind the cover, but remain when the cover is removed...although i have a problem with the covers lining up...they don't fit right...i just made a thread about it

Yeah, there are 2 angle brackets with heavy duty velcro that goes to the blackout on either side. And there is one slot bracket, with a tab on the blackout to go in the slot when you put them on.

It does look kinda out of place when you don't have the blackouts on... well yeah "bad" is a good word for it, but it looks super with them on, and they won't come off at 113 mph ;).

The brackets are either double sided tape or you can screw them in. I opted to screw them in.

Here's some pics that I took for someone who just asked about these on another board...

            Re: headlight cover issues

Thanks guys. The previous owner of my car must have had the Wade covers because I have a discolouration right where the bracket on Rt1's car is and I also have some glue/gunk on the inner-side of the headlight enclosure right where Rt1 has the velcro. I never knew what all that was, but now it makes a lot of sense. I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on those Wade covers. I really don't like my vent shades...maybe I'll try to sell them.

Do you guys have any trouble seeing at night with the smoke covers? I've done the Silverstar conversion and I still feel like the lighting from the headlighs is poor. I can only imagine it would be worse with a smoke lense in front the headlights.

Yep, can't see a f-ing thing. I only put them on for pics and shows. I don't even drive with the back ones on anymore, after my wife almost rearended me with her car when I went to make a right turn. She said that she couldn't see the turn signal. It was during the day. I would much rather not get rearended. I love the look, but I'm getting old and safety is more important to me.

                Re: headlight cover issues

Mine hook up just like rt1. I went with carbon fiber, however, which in certain light, look smoked, but are a helluva lot easier to see at night, because they let most of the light through. I have found though, i still can't have the headlight covers on when it's wet and rainy outside, because the light is cut down too much. They work fine in the summer though, so if you want the look of the covers and still want them to be functional, i would go with the carbon fiber ones like i have.
