I hate vht nightshades

I tried doing it to my third brake light and it came out very bad looks all ugly. I sanded it down sprayed it then cleared it now it really looks ****ed up. Im afraid to do the taillights because there was too many spider cracks and paint streaks.

I guess now I gotta buy another third brake light

How do I remove the third brake light what kind of screw do I use to remove it. I swear I am so mad at this ****ing paint I really wanted to do this.

When I first sprayed it on it looked so good but it dried and there was spider cracks everywhere.

I wanna know are yall getting this done professional because this seems like some hard stuff to do

Someone please tell me how to do vht nightshades the correct way just for my knowledge

I bought a decal for my 3rd brake light. I did nightshade my clear corners, and they turned out good IMO. Just follow the directions, couple of light coats, not one heavy one. Let it dry, wet sand it abit if needed (mine didn't), then a coat or two of clear (I did 2, cuz I like the shine :D )

dang man thats rough...

all the lights i tinted (corners, side markers, and third brake light) i took off the car to tint to make sure i got them on a level surface...and i sanded them a little bit first befoer i even started spraying. so...(for me at least)...this worked out well:

1) remove the light housing from the car and sand it and clean it with rubbing alcohol to give the tint something to grab hold of,
2) get the light housing faces facing straight up and as level as possible,
3) spray in very thin layers going off of the light on each side as you move across it to make sure you don't get too much tint in one area and let that dry from ab 10 minutes,
4) go back and add extremely thin layers until you get it as dark as you want,
5) spray a few thin coats of clear and let it dry for a while before re-installing.

thats the way i did it and it turned out amazing. sorry about the bad luck...hope things work out if you decide to try again...i think its a star or a hammer screw that holds the light on btw. try getting it off and sanding it down to get the tint off...maybe that'll work.

Yeah I had that on first but I guess I will be going back to buying another decal and buying some taillight tint film but I will be throwing away this vht nightshades asap.

My only reason Im mad is because I have to buy another third brake light because it just looks to bad to keep oh well you learn from your mistakes

I tried removing it first but couldn't figure out how to take it out where do I find a screw to fit it since I have to buy another third brake light anyway

i think its a torx bit.

i have a t-10 screwdriver that i found in the car when i bought it, so my best guess is thats the size. i dunno for sure, never had to take it off yet.

for some reason the 3rd brake light doesnt like nightshades too well. its kinda tricky

get out some lower grit paper and sand it all off (100ish maybe). then work the paper up in incriments to about 800.

make LIGHT coats, and let it dry inbetween. it took me several tries with the 3rd brake light to get it right as well.

When you clear coat it, only certain clears work. I tried regular duplicolor clear and it messed it all up for me. I ended up using some sort of hight temp clear.

why not just buy some tailight covers for the tails? and then just get a 3rd brake decal from ebay with the words firebird or camaro on it and then buy clear corners for everything else. much easier.

naw because I already gotblack halo headlights black signal lights so everything else has to match thanks for the suggestions
