Pictures are useless, since the camera's white balance is nothing like the human eye. To give you an idea of the color roughly...

      Kelvin Degrees
      1900 - a candle
2000 - Sun raise or set (known as the Golden Hour in production)
      2700 - incandescent light bulb
      3200 - halogen studio light
4100 - fluorescent light (it has a green spike though)
4200 - Sun in the morning
      6000 - standard overcast sunlight
      8000+ - shaded sunlight

6000K would be the color the road appears. Not to complicate things, but keep this in mind as well. There's a theory called The Persistence of Color that states that the perception of an objects color to the human eye will depend on the color of any object around it. Here's a classic example. The color in boxes A and B are identical.

My point is, 6000K at night when all you see it a headlight surrounds by black night is going to look completely different than the same 6000K Sunlight on a road.

By the way, my vote was for 6000K. 8000K has too much purple for my liking.

Post #26. While the light on the top of the garage doesn't look like the right color, the color of the 6000k seems to have been very well captured. The blue line at the top of the light is from the cutoff on my projectors, and doesn't reflect the color of the HID kit.

That's an impossible request, as every computer monitor is different. Go with the 6000K and call it a day. 6000 is like  .
