So I just got my cousins 93 Camaro. It is a dark red/maroon color, and it could use a little touch up. I was thinking of painting the whole car because i wanted a new hood anyway, and would like some stripes of some sort. Throw up some pictures of your car so i can get some ideas on paint. I was thinking of a gunmetal type color with black stipes, but im not set on that.

I'm assuming your car is the same color as mine. If I were you I would keep it the same color and save yourself a bunch of money. You could add some hockey stripes or find some stripes that go good with the new hood. Here are some of what mine looks like now.

wow, that actually looks really good with the stripes. if i g et a new hood do you think it would be hard to match the paint of the body?

If you take it to a decent body shop they should have no problems matching it perfectly. One of my quarter panels was actually repainted and I didn't know about it until I removed my side moldings. So any reputable shop should be just fine.

Not trying to steal your tread, but about how much does it cost to repaint a whole car its original color?

Do you plan on having all of the door jambs painted as well as the engine bay? If you wanted all that painted a different color it would probably cost quite a bit more.

Painting a whole car a different color and doing it right is very expensive and takes a lot of time. To respray the whole exterior the oem color I would guess you are still in the 3-4k range from a good shop.

I like the maroon on that camaro I say leave the oem color if that's the one you have.

well, the paint is kinda getting a little dull and i was just planning on doing the exterior. do you know how much it would be for stripes like that, but maybe with an ss hood, or any other one? i was also looking aorund and saw someone with a white camaro with black stripes, it looked really good.

The stripes I have are just vinyl and they were only about $45.

ide paint it at maaco if your gettin the same color...but if ur gonna change colors ide go to a professional grade shop my gta was painted at maaco from that color maroon to bright red and it got minor chips from rocks and stuff and the dark red showed up so it wouldnt be bad if it was the same color

that doesnt sound like a bad idea at all. i need a new front bumper, door, and hood, so i definitely need it painted after all that. and a nice new coat on it will look good. expetially if it looks like that one. i never thought the black on maroon would look good but it certainly does.

Well to give you an idea i paid about 1200 bucks just in paint to repaint my whole car using ppg eurathane paint and clear system, doing a color change and the jambs, both sides of the doors, and trunk lid. But i paint cars so that's all i had to spend:). My car was that dark maroon color, and i just didn't like it so i picked this color, and i love it. Well good luck

i have some similar stripes and theyre really faded/dirty and i'd like to replace em. but everywhere ive seen is around $100. :(

I bought them off of ebay a couple years ago, but you can find them at www.rallystripes.com. It looks like they are $48 shipped. The vinyl is high quality, mine have been on for about three years, exposed to everything during the winter. The stripes come with plenty of extra vinyl but no pinstripe, so I layed that myself.
