improved fuel efficiency with 93-97 headlight covers?

I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced better fuel economy with headlight covers on their 93-97 Camaros? I'm planning on driving my car about 2500 miles across Canada this Spring in the span of about 2 days and then heading back about 2 weeks later for another 2500 miles. So I'm very concerned about fuel efficiency. First of all I was planning on putting a bra on the hood to cut down on bug spatter on my paint, and secondly I was going to get a hold of some headlight covers to streamline the car a little more and hopefully get another 1-2 mpg on the highway. What do you guys think?

i highly doubt youll gain better gas mileage if you did it and IF it did you probably wouldnt be able to notice

idk about that but
lowering air drag > lowering weight drag (unless its drivetrain weight)
Remove the luggage rack on top of your roof. Tape stuff up... etc hahaha
Make sure the wheels turn freely and without friction(drag). (make sure brakes dont stick)

kinda off subject but i was thinking they would block air to the intake b/c the air intake collector is right behind the headlights...so they might decrease air flow to the intake and inturn decrease perf a lil

I have a K&N CAI and I think it might take air a little deeper down than stock intakes...but you're right I'm pretty sure some air comes through unrestricted headlights.

When I put my headlight covers on, the temp did come up around town, which would lead my to believe not enough air getting into the engine bay in general.

I dont know about the highway, because no trip is carried out at the same speed, so its not really that easy to tell.

just make sure your tires have enough air pressure...that'll make more of a difference than headlight covers

I'm still undecided on whether it looks nice...It changes the front of car significantly...maybe a little too much for me. I should start a poll on whether people prefer the look of headlight covers or not.

Ive never gotten into trouble with them, the downfall is... with them on you can barely see the headlights at night.
I prefer the good appearance over visability.

IMO, if your going to get headlight covers for 'better fuel economy' and that reason only... seeing as you dont know if you like them, Your a moron.

I think they would look even better if the patches on the side were gloss black, to go with the glossyness of the headlight cover.
