  • removing the console for clutch change

I'm gonna change the clutch out soon and I know I must remove the console but do I have to remove the entire thing or just the upper part? Can I leave the boot attached to the upper part when I remove it?

why would you remove the console? just remove the shifter and that's it.

You have to pull off the top half of the console to remove the shifter. ;)

I had to remove the whole console to do mine. The bolts for the rubber boot are impossible to remove without taking off the whole thing on the firebirds anyway. Not sure if the camaro is any different.

I had to remove the entire console on my '95 Camaro as well to get at the bolts for the rubber boot.
