i was just told 50 w in the electrical section...i want to make sure the stock wiring will be good for a 55 w aftermarket light.
Yes, they are definitely good for it. The wiring for the headlights and foglights will handle 55W just fine. Not to mention I've had these 55W lights in for about 8 months and I frequently drive with them on as DRLs and they are always on with the headlights. No problems. 55W will be fine :)
As far as I know you don't pay any Cdn tax on things coming across the border as long as they're under a certain value. I'm not exactly sure what the breakdown on duty and taxes are but generally if the item you bought is valued at less than 20 bucks then there are no charges when it crosses the border. Obviously its cool if u can work something out with the shipper to declare the item at a value less than 20 bucks if it isn't already. With the case of my fog lights, which came from Ohio (I think), I paid nothing (no tax or duty). I've also been told that with items shipped from the US by USPS Air parcel post no duty is charged...I can't confirm this for sure, but the last couple of things I've received USPS airparcel post have not been charged taxes or duty.
