I'm replacing my fog lights...actually i'm putting driving lights in place of my foglights. Do you guys think I should go with a clear lense or blue lense? Keep in mind that I have sylvania silverstar headlights, which are bright white.
I would definitely go with blue. The beam isn't going to be blue anyway, it will be a white beam just like your silverstars, with a small hint of blue..that is assuming they are street legal.
I might actually pick up a set of those 1452s, $20 can't go wrong!

Do you figure the 1452 fog light set up will be better for lighting up the road than the 1402s driving lights? The street lights around my place aren't great and I'm planning on doing headlight covers this summer. I just want a bright road in front of me...I don't care which lights I get.
Yes, I would assume the 1452s would do a better job. Normally bigger lights do a better job lighting up the road because there is more room for optics and such. The 1452s are slightly bigger than the other ones, and from the picture, the optics look better to me. I'm considering getting the 1452s and the 100W bulbs for them.
In any case, they will surely do a better job lighting the road than the stock fogs do with next to no optics at all.
I'm only worried about the installation now. I don't feel like having to fabricate a bracket to bolt them down.
right now i've got some pilot 55w halogens i picked up at g.i. joes.. I had to fab up brackets, but it was no big deal. I basically used one clip per foglight to mount up to the stock brackets, and for the other side, since they weren't as wide, i used a long screw to go thru the stock bracket and into the foglight. Took only a minute or two to think of, and about equally as long to get it all working.
here's a pic of what i'm talking about, from the other thread:
as you can see, it's just a longer screw with a nut on the outside of the stock mounting bracket, the other side is held on by the clips that hold the original lights on.
I didn't notice that the 1452s were fog lights, whereas the 1402s were driving lights. Driving lights would probably be a better bet with the headlight covers because they do a good job of replacing headlights, fog lights only improve visibility by acting as more of a flood lamp to light up what's right in front of you..driving lights are more like brights.

yeah that's what I figure too. Thanks a bunch for all the posts...its nice to know someone can help deal with all these lighting questions that I have.
