Well the clears are cheaper than the normal blacked out lenses right?
Its quite simple to do but you wouldnt do it with any other color than clear because if you did it with the red side makers, which I think is what comes on a firebird or if you wanted to do it with the signals on a camaro(yellow), they would just come out as dark red or dark yellow.
didn't come out looking dark red or yellow when i did mine...in fact they look like they were just painted black...

Sweet, i asked this question again but never got a straight answer, how did you go about painting these? did you put any type of coating at the end?
took them all off the car, washed them off a bit, sanded them down, cleaned with alcohol then water and dried them, place them as LEVEL as i possibly could (very important so the paint doesn't run at all), applied about 8 (i think) LIGHT coats of VHT Night Shades (light coats are the key), allowed about 15 minutes between each coat, let them dry for a night, applied about 12 LIGHT coats of clear, allowed about 15 minutes between each coat, and let sit overnight...then i was done! thinking i may go back sometime and try and polish them up but they look great for now.

Are we talking about Front Headlites?
Does Nite Shades allow all the light thru?
Sorry if this is a noob Q...

For firebirds, you can do the front and rear side markers along w/the taillights.
For Camaros, you can do the same, except you can buy blackouts for the headlights.
Using VHT Niteshade, in the day the side markers and taillights look dark, but once they're lit, SUPPOSEDLY (and i say this because i have no experience w/them but i have heard reviews about them) they let the light thru w/no problem, as if they were stock. But the again, i could be mistaken.
Thanks.
Is NiteShade applied to the outside of the lites? Instead of blackouts (which have ugly logos:tdown: ), can Night Shades be used on the headlites?

Not SUPPOSEDLY (I say this because i have it on my tail lights, so does the 3.4, both lights light up perfectly fine, never been harassed at all.)

Yes, VHT Niteshades is applied to the outside.
Why would you want to use it on your headlights? I'm sure it can be used, but it seems like an extremely dumb idea which should probably just be dropped

That's the only thing I don't like about Nightshades, it can make things too dark [even with light coats].
mine came out nice...still see the light perfectly...actually can see it better than when i had the covers on

Had to be evacuated Monday again after a fire was going on the hill behind us. Only 3-4 hours, they did a good job getting it under control. Especially...
