I need some opinions on painting my C6 rims???

I have 18" regular chrome C6 rims without the rivets and am thinking about getting them painted like these ones in this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-CO...spagenameZWD1V

I have a pewter metalic 99 Camaro with black accents, this is the list of black accents I have berger panel, slp grill, carbonfiber nose emblem,black RS emblems, black calipers and soon I plan on painting my roof and a manta stripe on my ss scoop. I think the black on the rims would really tie it all in good and just want to get some opinions on what everyone thinks, im also wondering how good do you guys think the paint would hold up on the rims would it chip easily and be a problem down the road or should it hold up good. I would be getting them painted from the same shop that painted my car so it would be quality work.

don't paint the rims. they are far to nice to screw up like that.

Thanks for the opinions. I decided not to paint them. The main reason is because the body shop said that they wouldnt reccomend it and wouldnt garuantee the work.

Don't paint them! They look good and the whole black rim fad is going to fade away eventually.

Just like the chrome rim fad :rolleyes: Its not a 'fad'

It seems stupid to buy chrome rims (which are more expensive to start with) then strip the chrome and paint them black. Sell the chromes, buy the blacks, and have some extra cash :tup:

While they look amazing now, I voted to paint them, but not quite like the auction. I say go ahead and keep them chrome, but paint where the wheels in the auction are black black, but keep the face of them chrome as well as the lip, and leave out the rivets.

if you want them to look like that...sell them chrome ones you got and buy a set...better yet, GIVE me your chrome c6s so you can get those other ones! see...i just elminated a step for you! i say leave them man...looks good the way it is...
