Hey all, my engine bay is pretty darn dirty, i don't think it's ever been cleaned before, without taking the entire engine out, whats the best way to clean all the metal and plastic? What kind of cleaner do you reccomend? Should i make sure to stay away from certain things? (besides the obvious) thanx

Re: Cleaning Engine Bay- What to use?
I use just a plain degreaser and a can of CD2 engine detailer after that. It works pretty darn well and just use a wire brush to clean off some of the stubborn parts in there! Just make sure you cover up all the electrical parts with plastic bags (PCM, Alternator, wires, ect.)
Here is a pic of how well the CD2 worked on my engine bay!

another cd2 user here. make sure you hit all the rubber with some kind of rubber protectant to shine it up nicely.

oh yeah, you can get CD2 at any auto store. I just wrapped the electricals in plastic bags and sprayed away. It is in a aerosol can so you just spray it liberally (Democratically... :) all over the engine, let it sit for while then start the car and run it a little bit and it burns some of it off. Then I just whip it down and clean it up and hit it with some rubber protectant. From my experience, NXT Tech Protectant works pretty well for that part. Good Luck

Looks good. I've heard a lot of good from that CD2 stuff, but i also heard that it was recalled and unavailable at stores. Is that still true? Also is that NXT protectant just a basic rubber/vinal protectant like armor all?Check out my cardomain site!
My Car
