  • Touch up paint

I was applying some touch up paint to the little road nicks that happen from time-to-time to my '98 Firebird (black). Yesday, the small bottle I was using cracked and spilt all over my front bumper. In an effort to clean it up I whiped it off with a damp rag. Sure enough there is something that always goes from with me as I see the finish (existing paint & clear coat) on the front bumper come off as well! Now, I have a dull black section on the front bumper of my car.

It made me laugh for a little bit because I took pictures of the car before the this exciting little misadventure. Then, I got pissed.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a quick fix to this?

I figured I'd go out and buy some paint to match the car, and some clear coat...? Correct me if I'm wrong. : )

You need the rpo number from inside your door... or you can search for it cause i'm sure there's a thread with all the rpo numbers... and black should be pretty easy to find...

depending on how big the area is... it shouldn't be all that expensive if you just wanted to take it somewhere to get the area repainted...

I know how you feel man... stuff goes wrong with me all the time... the worst was when i was trying to take off my water pump when i was rebuilding my engine... and the bolt sheared... yeah that sucked...
