i don't know if i'd call this an appearance mod, but i'm considering the appearance of one wheel over another.

what do you think would look better in my white camaro vert?

    here's the momo trek r

    and the momo commando r

and the car... (car's getting eibach prokit + bilsteins on wednesday, excuse the height)

    here's a thread on ls1tech with the commando R in a camaro. http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=626833

If i had to choose, I would pick the second one, the commando, but personally i'd stick with stock on this one. but the second one blends just a tad better because there isn't so much random aluminum showing.

          any suggestions?

i want to get rid of the stock steering wheel. i'm interested in getting away from the round shape, towards a smaller diameter wheel. at the same time i don't want something too tacky. it's a fine line and looking over momo and sparco wheels, these were the most appealing options.

I bought a hardwood & aluminum wheel I bought in an auto parts store in Switzerland and I had it on my 1985 MR2 then on my
Ford Probe and the feel of the wood wheel is the best. This Momo wheel in leather or rubber is not worth the money and does not look as good as light, glossy walnut.
Of course if you have a front end wreck....you have no protection to keep U from dying in the car.

Except of course the seatbelt which is a far more effective piece of saftey equipment than an airbag ever will be.

with that said, let's not get into the whole missing airbag thing.

i'm going to have to find these wheels in performance shops to get a feel for them.

Here is an idea.......keep your stock steering wheel to utilize the airbag and remote for the stereo....but, take off the actual steering ring and have a custom one made to the shape you like and you can add aluminum or keep the leather wrap if you like. A good machine shop should be able to modify to fit all your factory bolts and accessories. The steering wrap can be done by a interior specialist, not all upholstery shops will have the know how to make it look like it belongs, so shop around on that before you decide. THEN, you will have a TRUE custom wheel.

Thats assuming he has the steering mounted controls... I dont, and I dont think many v6's do.
