I'll try and get a pic when I can.

Eventually I'm going to get a adapter to allow the use of a manaual shift knob. That will allow an endless amount of choices.

So i take it that there is no problem in attaching this to our cars then?

People do modifications to their car for reasons other than speed, just so you know.

I think it looks a lot better. IMO the shifter is way to tall. Plus it gets in the way of reaching my ipod when I have that in my car. I have it by the ashtray. I have to reach around the shifter to change songs. I've been planning on cutting mine down as well for that purpose, as well as getting the leather boot to clean it up a little.

The real question is: How do you get the "knob" on the automatic off?????
                  I have a 2000 Camaro. Pls advise.
                  thanks.

There is a staple on the front of the knob. Just put it out and the knobs comes right off.

I heard that but it seems to be really hidden.

pull the shifter all the way back and look at the front of the knob. use a flathead screwdriver or something to pop the c-staple out. Then pull the knob straight up.

                          Re: No custom auto shifter?

I'd just like to comment on this thread. I read it all up untill here and I am def going to cut mine down. I have a Firebird and the handle is much bigger than the Camaro's. I find it def does get in the way. I thikn it looks better shorter too. Sensible + Cosmetic + Free. Can't go wrong. I'll take a pic and post when I finish!

I believe WS6store carries them, they also have the automatic shift adapter.
